Welcome! I am Tamara. My husband Joe and I make up the team here at Farmacology Organics... and from time to time we also get help from our grandkids! Farmacology Organics came about after 25 years of crafting herbals for my own family. We begin to make the herbals on the side, selling them at farmers markets. The response was overwhelming and a small business was born.

A few years ago we moved to 10 acres in the mountains of NC. Were at the not so young chick, ages of 53 and 63 we started homesteading. Not long after moving here we also begin raising two of our young grandsons.  Now the homestead consists of the four of us. We are slowly building the life we dreamed of. And while building that life, loving the one we have in this present moment. We homestead, cook real food, gather herbs, craft healing herbals as we more towards a simple life with a focus on WHOLEistic living that embraces the body, mind and spirit.

At Farmacology Organics, we know that quality begins with our pure botanical ingredients. We use only the finest whole organic herbs; pure therapeutic grade essential oils; cold pressed oils and butters; and ionized water.

  • We use only the freshest plant materials to ensure the quality and potency of our extracts
  • Our menstrums are of the highest quality. We use only organic alcohols, organic vinegars and cold pressed organic oils for our infusions
  • Our extracts steep for at least 6 weeks instead of the industry standard 2 weeks. This allows for a deeper, fuller range of infusion
  • None of our herbal infusions are ever exposed to heat. Oils used for healing skin care and salves are infused with herbs for 6 to 8 weeks and warmed by the light of the sun.
  • Each and every one of our products is crafted lovingly and intentionally, in small batches to ensure quality.
  • We use, abundant plants over exotic, endangered plants. This ensures potency , quality and responsibility

A Business Born of Traditions and Need

Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains, herbs were part of everyday life. Our ancestors delivered babies, applied poultices, gathered ginseng, made spring tonics and cooked nourishing foods for their families. Prayer and intention was an important part of the process. I grew up with mustard plasters for chest colds, honey with herbs for coughing and dandelion salads for a spring cleanse. Herbalism is a traditional medicine, it was the natural choice.
